Mary Ann Chartrand of Top Safety Speakers enjoys working with the community and works with a variety of groups to inspire others.

In 2016  Mary Ann created an innovative program that links of teenagers with local seniors. Once a week a group of girls aged 13-17 visit a group of fun-loving seniors aged 70-101! Strong relationships have been built as they laugh together playing games, singing and sharing life lessons. It’s an extremely valuable experience for everyone which brings much joy to all especially Mary Ann.

Hometown Heroes: Students bringing joy to seniors

During COVID 19 the group had to get creative about how they could safety visit their friends who were in lockdown. They entertained outside at a safe distance from each other while the seniors participated from their balconies!  They sang, danced to some great oldies and made lots of noise with pots and pans. The girls held up signs that said, You are loved and we are going to be OKAY! Keeping people safe and seeing people have fun are Mary Ann’s passions!
